Arrowsmith House
The Arrowsmith House was an opportunity to design a home around a breathtaking view towards Lake Washington. The existing foundation is to remain as a steep slope retaining wall, while a series of stacked boxes offset above to create usable exterior space at each level. All spaces open to the north in order to best capture the views of the lake.
project type: single-family | location: Rainier Beach, Seattle, WA | client: Anita Crawford-Willis | complete: TBD
The home sits perched atop a slope overlooking Lake Washington Blvd. A dramatic roof overhang punctuates the design with exposed wood and large glazed openings.
The interior program fits around a central stair that comes up the middle of the home. Each floor is offset from this centerpoint, creating a dynamic facade and severval protected exterior spaces.
