Double Wedge

In 2018 Seattle re-zoned many of its residential neighborhoods in an attempt to increase density and grow the city from within. This duplex project takes full advantage of these new rules, as it utilizes a previously unused portion of an existing single family lot. The result is an infill project that is careful to embrace the urban fabric while maintaining a distinct feeling of residential privacy.

The roofline consists of two pitched sections, dividing the duplex neatly into its Double Wedge. This funnels rain water into two consolidated points of discharge, increases interior volume, and establishes the home’s unique aesthetic.
