Grand View House
This sprawling contemporary home is tucked against the edge of an old growth forest and opens to a stunning view to the northwest. The design is a direct response of 3 primary site conditions: topography, forest edge, and view. The result is a strategic collection of linear elements that open and close as like valves, controlling the experience to highlight those 3 conditions.

The living room roofline pops above the primary roof, offering a dynamic exterior composition, and a grander interior view to the northeast.
A series of cantilevered roof forms punctuate the visual expression of the exterior of the home. A simple material palette of painted fiber cement panels, vertical cedar accents, and expansive glazing help the home integrate itself into the surrounding forest.
